Man Sentenced for Taking Photos Up a Woman's Skirt in 2019 in Otsego Co.
A man was sentenced this week after taking pictures up a woman's skirt in 2019.
Michigan State Police were contacted in July 2019 by a woman who was shopping at a store in Gaylord alleging a man took photos up her skirt while she was shopping for shoes.
The victim stated a man was standing uncomfortably close to her while she was shopping for shoes. When the man bent over, she saw he had his phone in his hand with the camera app open.
She immediately confronted the man and asked if he was taking photos. He denied it and showed her photos on his phone.
The victim video-recorded the confrontation and posted the video on Facebook, asking if anyone knew him.
Someone replied it was Tim Bruce from Charlevoix.
Troopers interviewed then 56-year-old Timothy Mark Bruce at his home in Charlevoix.
Bruce stated he was shopping and remembered the confrontation, but denied taking any photographs.
His phone was seized and sent to the MSP Computer Crimes Unit in Traverse City for analysis.
Bruce was arrested and later arraigned on December 12 in 2019, in Otsego County.
On June 23 Bruce plead guilty to Surveilling Unclothed Person.
Bruce was sentenced this week to six months in the Otsego County Jail and will also be added to the Michigan Sex Offender Registry.
