On Sunday morning, the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash on M-119, south of Powell Road in Bear Creek Township.

The Sheriff's Office states that a 2018 Ford Mustang, driven by 32-year-old Jacob Malley of Mt. Pleasant lost control going northbound on M-119.

The vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing the vehicle to roll over and partially eject Malley from the vehicle.

Malley was transported to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The roadway and bike path near the accident location was shut down for around 5 hours while the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigators conducted their investigation.

The accident remains under investigation
