DNR Releases New Hunting and Fishing App for Apple and Android
The new Michigan Department of Natural Resources hunting and fishing app is now available for download to Apple and Android devices.
Introduced in July after months of development and testing, the free Michigan DNR Hunt Fish app offers a convenient way for hunters, anglers and other outdoor enthusiasts to:
Buy hunting and fishing licenses and trail permits.
Report deer or fish harvests.
Look up regulations and download guides and digests.
Find their license history, including point and chance balances.
Check out maps with multiple layers, showing features such as shooting ranges and boat launches.
Get timely notifications from the DNR.
The app is designed as a hybrid solution, meaning users need internet access for some features – including making purchases, reporting harvests, downloading guides and digests, checking points/chances and drawing results, and viewing a map of DNR locations – but they can view all license purchases and downloaded guides/digests regardless of internet connectivity.
With some hunting digests, like the waterfowl and fall turkey digests, not being printed this year, the app provides a convenient new way to get information about hunting regulations and seasons.
A 30% discount to onX digital hunting maps is available to those who download the Michigan DNR Hunt Fish app and sign up for notifications by Sept. 14. On Sept. 15, they will receive the discount through an in-app notification.
