Following a crash this morning, an overpass will now be shut down for the next few months.

Earlier today, the Isabella County Central Dispatch reported a semi-truck hauling an excavator had hit the Vernon Road overpass, causing damage.

Police and road crews were on the scene to assess the damage, causing a traffic backup.

This afternoon, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced that the Vernon Road overpass, over US127, will be shut down for the next 2-4 months due to damage sustained.
