Gun control will be top of the agenda when President Biden meets this week with congress following the deadly Uvalde shooting, and other tragedies around the country.

Democrats have scheduled a special session of the House Judiciary Committee this Thursday to send tougher gun rules to the floor for a vote.

The package includes eight bills, including tackling gun trafficking, promoting safe storage and raising the age at which Americans can buy semi-automatic rifles.

A vote is scheduled next week on a red-flag law, which allows the removal of firearms from a person who may present a danger to others or themselves. The bills are likely to pass the house, but will face an uphill battle in the Senate.
