Newaygo Co., Kent Co Sheriff's Office, Metro Pattern Crimes Team Work Alongside Each Other to Make Headway in Catalytic Converter Thefts

The Newaygo County Sheriff's Office has been working alongside Kent County Sheriff's Office detectives and the Metro Pattern Crimes Team to make headway against catalytic converter thefts.
On Monday, a 39-year-old Howard City man and a 34-year-old Greenville man were arrested for two 5-year felonies: Larceny from a Motor Vehicle & violation of the Scrap Metal Regulatory Act.
According to the Kent County Sheriff's Office, both are alleged to have cut a catalytic converter from a victim's vehicle along 18 Mile Rd North West in Nelson Township days earlier.
The victim is estimated to be out $1,000. The agencies involved are working together to see if this arrest can help solve other cases as well.
