U.S.: Russian Munitions Violate Geneva Convention
During the U.N. General Assembly, U.S. Ambassador Linda-Thomas Greenfield called on Russia to immediately stop using force against Ukraine, and accused it of violating the Geneva convention.
Greenfield accused Russia of using cluster munitions and vacuum bombs, which are banned under the Geneva convention.
Her comments came as the 193-nation General Assembly met for a third day of speeches about the war, and voted to demand that Russia stop its offensive against Ukraine and withdraw its troops.
Country after country, from Europe's economic powerhouse to a tiny Pacific island nation, have lined up to lash out at Russia's invasion of Ukraine and urge support for a U.N. resolution demanding an immediate halt to Moscow's offensive and withdrawal of all Russian troops.
