Closing arguments were made in the case of three former Minneapolis police officers accused of violating George Floyd's civil rights.

Prosecutors told the jury that the J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao “chose to do nothing” as Derek Chauvin squeezed the life out of Floyd, singling out each officer, arguing that Thao stared directly at Chauvin and ignored bystanders’ pleas to help adding that Kueng casually picked gravel from a police SUV’s tire as Chauvin “mocked George Floyd’s pleas" and, noting that while Lane voiced concerns, he failed to act.

Defense attorneys countered that the officers were too inexperienced and weren’t trained properly or didn’t have the intent the charges require.

Jurors are expected to begin deliberations Wednesday.
