Candidate for Mayor Shot at while Inside his Campaign Office
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Shots were fired into the office of a candidate for mayor in Kentucky's largest city Monday. He was not struck, though police said a bullet grazed a piece of his clothing.
In fact, no one was hit by a bullet, but the office was temporarily evacuated.
Police have not determined a motive but they did take someone into custody near Craig Greenberg's Lousiville campaign office.
Greenberg said in a social media post that "my team and I are fortunately all safe," adding: "Thank you for the outpouring of support."
The candidate appeared to have been the intended target, and police believe the suspect acted alone.
Greenberg was previously the C.E.O. of 21c Museum Hotels, and also served on the University of Louisville Board of Trustees.
The democrat is attempting to succeed outgoing Mayor Greg Fischer.
