Tight Security in Place for Super Bowl
U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas says there are no "specific, credible" threats against this Sunday's Super Bowl, but his agency as well as state and local law enforcement have undertaken extensive preparations to make sure the event is safe.
The Super Bowl takes place this Sunday at SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California, a Los Angeles Suburb.
The home town Los Angeles Rams play the Cincinnati Bengals.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said "everyone and everything" that enters the perimeter of SoFi stadium will be screened.
"We are taking measures that are both seen and unseen," he said.
Officials stressed that security would extend to other Super Bowl events.
Mayorkas also said that specialists are also working to combat any human trafficking that may accompany the festivities.
