Man arrested in death of a former Cal Star

A man is in custody for the fatal shooting of a former California basketball star.
Juan Angel Garcia was arrested Saturday and could face a murder charge in connection to the death of Gene Ransom, which happened on Friday Night in Oakland on Interstate 880. California Highway patrol say the victim was likely targeted and the motive appeared to be road rage. Ransom was a star point guard at Cal in the late 1970s. He averaged close to 15 points per game. Ransom was signed by the Golden State Warriors in 1979 but was cut in the preseason. He died at the age of 65.
