U.S. Winter Storm Affecting Thousands of Flights
Winter storms have swept across the U.S. in recent days, bringing rain, freezing rain, and snow.
But it is also bringing canceled flights, and as airlines canceled thousands of flights, officials urged residents to stay off roads and schools closed campuses.

The blast of frigid weather, which began arriving Tuesday night and continued Wednesday, put a long stretch of states from New Mexico and Colorado to Maine under winter storm warnings and watches. On Wednesday morning, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan saw freezing rain, sleet and snow.
Power has been knocked out to more than 100 thousand homes and businesses, and has disrupted flights at the busy Dallas Fort Worth International airport.
According to the website poweroutage.us, which tracks utility reports, power outages were centered around Texas, Tennessee, and Arkansas.
