MA National Guard Performs Hypothermia Training at National All-Domain Warfighting Center in Crawford Co.
Last week, Soldiers from the 20th Special Forces Group of the Massachusetts National Guard performed intensive hypothermia training during Northern Strike 22-1 at Lake Margrethe on the National All-Domain Warfighting Center in Grayling.
On January 24th, they worked with the Special forces group doing what they deem as the ice bath.
Northern Strike Safety Director CW3 Lee Fuller stated "It's hypothermic training for them entering the water simulating that they fell through the ice if they were working in a water type environment and then the ability to be able to handle the reef , the body's responses to that and be able to self recover it out of the ice and enter survival techniques to prevent injury."
CW3 Fuller stated that this showcases all of the training areas that the the National All-Domain Warfighting Center has, as well as the unique landscape, the acreage and having the lake.
"It's just another tool that a lot of training facilities don't have well." said CW3 Fuller.
