WASHINGTON

Next Thursday, on October the 14th the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will hold it's advisory committee meeting to discuss the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.

The agency will review emergency use authorization for boosters on individual 18 and older.

Right now, the Pfizer COVID-19 booster is the only one currently approved in the US for people over the age of 65 and those who may be immunocompromised.

The booster is meant to provide additional protection as studies have shown a slight decrease in protection over time and new variants emerge.
