WASHINGTON

The United States is bracing for Hurricane Ida.

This Friday evening President Joe Biden held a conference with Gulf Coast governors in advance of the storm.

Governors from Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi spoke with the president and FEMA administrator Deanne Criswell.

According to a White House press statement "they discussed the actions the states are taking to pre-position resources and initiate evacuation operations, including moving nursing home residents out of harm’s way."
