DENVER (AP) — Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Mike Zunino (zoo-NEE’-noh) hit solo homers and the American League won the All-Star Game for the eighth straight time, 5-2 over the National League. Marcus Semien put the junior circuit ahead to stay with an RBI single in the second, one inning before Guerrero went deep. Guerrero also poked an RBI grounder and Xander Bogaerts finished with two hits, including a run-scoring single.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi (kah-WY') Leonard has undergone surgery to repair a partial tear of his right ACL. Leonard missed the Clippers' final eight games after getting hurt in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals. The Clippers continued to announce that Leonard had a knee sprain as the team completed its playoff run.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The United States Olympic Men’s Basketball Team has avoided its first three-game losing streak in the era of NBA-eligible players. Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal each scored 17 points and the Americans took control from the outset, beating Argentina 108-80 in Las Vegas. Zach LaVine (lah-VEEN’) scored 15 for the U.S., which lost its first two games in Las Vegas to Nigeria and Australia.

CHICAGO (AP) — Florida Panthers coach Joel Quenneville has offered to participate in the Chicago Blackhawks’ review of allegations by a former player who says he was sexually assaulted by ex-assistant coach Bradley Aldrich in 2010. Quenneville coached Chicago to three Stanley Cup titles over 10-plus seasons before he was fired by the team in November 2018. A former federal prosecutor has been hired by the Blackhawks to conduct what the team says is an independent investigative review of the allegations in a pair of lawsuits filed against Aldrich.

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Ted Purdy has become the third PGA Tour player in 12 days to get a positive test for the coronavirus. Purdy had to withdraw from the Barbarsol Championship which is being held opposite the British Open. Zach Johnson had a positive COVID-19 test after last weekend's John Deere Classic, and Hideki Matsuyama received a positive test after the first round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
