Monday was a pretty big day for the Maritime Heritage Alliance in Traverse City.

Volunteers came out early this week to help put the Cutter Champion into the water for the first time this season and getting its' mast put in place.

The Champion, which was donated to the M.H.A. just over 10 years ago, will be on full display this Saturday for an open house at the Maritime Heritage Alliance in Greilickville.

Heather Perkins, who works for Maritime Heritage Alliance, stated that everyone is invited, and they will be able to sail and see the beautiful scenery surrounding Traverse City.
