A Tustin man has been arraigned after attacking a woman with a blowtorch and razors.

On May 4, a Michigan State Police trooper was dispatched to a report of a domestic disturbance that occurred the day before in a camper located on state land in Selma Township

The investigation led to the arrest of 39-year old Thomas Alan Peterson.

The victim alleged she and Peterson had been arguing. Peterson struck her in the forehead with a blow torch and later threw razor blades at her feet. He then attempted to choke her and threatened to kill her dog. When victim attempted to call 911 Peterson took her phone. On the morning of May 4th, Peterson left the campsite and had not been seen since. The surrounding area was checked by the trooper, but Peterson was not located.

The Wexford County Prosecutor’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Peterson on May 24. The MSP Seventh District Fugitive Team located Peterson in a camper behind the victim’s home. Peterson was lodged in the Wexford County Jail.

Peterson was arraigned in Wexford County on one count Interfering with a Telecommunications Device and one count Domestic Violence Second Offense Notice and Habitual Offender Second Offense Notice. His next scheduled court appearance is on June 15 at 2:00 p.m.
