Around 6:15 on Monday morning, Michigan State Police troopers were dispatched to a residence on Intermediate Lake Road in Central Lake Township for a domestic assault that occurred earlier that morning.

An intoxicated 26-year old Central Lake man allegedly held his girlfriend and her friend, along with three children, against their will at the home while he physically assaulted the two women, including shooting one of them with a BB gun.

They were able to escape the home and retrieve their phones from the man after he passed out. Troopers, along with deputies from the Antrim County Sheriff’s Office, contacted the man and arrested him after a short struggle.

He was lodged in the Antrim County Jail and could face charges of Domestic Violence, Assault and Battery, Unlawful Imprisonment, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Interfering with an Electronic Communications Device, Torture, and Resisting and Obstructing.
