On May 16, Deputies were dispatched to Leroy Township in Osceola County to assist the Lake County Sheriff Office in searching for a stolen vehicle.

While Deputies were en route, a resident of Leroy Township called 911 to report they had been robbed at gunpoint.

The resident told dispatch the suspect demanded the keys to his vehicle. During the altercation several gun shots were fired.

A short time later, a citizen observed the stolen vehicle and reported its location to 911.

Osceola County Deputies made contact with the stolen vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle.

The stolen vehicle accelerated and the driver refused to stop, resulting in Deputies using stop sticks to disable the stolen vehicle.

This incident is currently under investigation.
